It has been used as a second-line drug in the past and is often used in retreatment patients with other anti-tuberculosis drugs. Used in combination with other anti-tuberculosis drugs to treat tuberculosis that is ineffective by first-line anti-tuberculosis drugs (such as streptomycin, isoniazid, rifampicin, and ethambutol).
